Russia attacked Ukrzaliznytsia facilities 41 times over five days: six employees killed

Over the past five days, Russian troops attacked Ukrzaliznytsia facilities 41 times. As a result of the shelling, six railway workers were killed and another 17 people were injured.

This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to the company, 11 locomotives were damaged during this period. Due to the threat of Russian strikes, passengers were evacuated from trains 350 times.

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that all locomotive crews caught in the shelling were warned in advance and rescued. However, three workers were killed after heading out to restore train traffic following a drone attack and the all-clear of an air raid alert. According to the company, Russian forces launched a repeated strike with a ballistic missile on the same location.

In addition, as a result of a strike on warehouses in the Kyiv region, eight people who were on a railway platform nearby were killed.

Despite constant attacks, railway workers are quickly restoring damaged infrastructure. Destroyed sections of tracks, overhead lines, and other facilities are often repaired within 3–6 hours, allowing passenger and freight services to resume swiftly.

One of the greatest dangers for repair crews remains repeated strikes on sites where rescuers and railway workers are already operating.

In addition to ensuring transportation, Ukrzaliznytsia continues to implement humanitarian projects. In particular, the autonomous Food Train operates, capable of preparing up to 10,000 hot meals per day during emergencies, as well as specially equipped medical trains that evacuate wounded military personnel and civilians to hospitals in rear regions.

In memory of the fallen workers, for the third day in a row, traditional music is not played at all Ukrzaliznytsia stations, and state flags are flown at half-mast.
