KIIS: Almost half of Ukrainians do not expect the war to end before the second half of 2027

Almost half of Ukrainians believe that the war will last at least until the second half of 2027. At the same time, the majority of citizens say they are ready to endure the war for as long as necessary.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

According to the study, 21% of respondents expect the war to end by the end of 2026, while another 15% predict its conclusion in the first half of 2027. At the same time, 45% of those surveyed believe that hostilities will continue until the second half of 2027 or longer.

The survey also showed an increase in Ukrainians’ readiness to continue resistance. Currently, 61% of respondents said they are prepared to endure the war “as long as necessary.” In Kyiv, this figure stands at 69%.
