Russian attacks destroyed more than 1.1 million Ukrainian textbooks, — MES

As a result of Russian shelling in Ukraine, more than 1.1 million school textbooks have been destroyed. The state is currently working to restore the losses as quickly as possible and provide students with the necessary literature before the start of the new school year.

This was reported by Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Butenko on Facebook.

"According to preliminary estimates, more than 1.1 million school textbooks have been destroyed due to Russian attacks. In total, 13.5 million copies are being printed this year for Ukrainian schoolchildren, so now our common task is to make up for the losses as quickly as possible and do everything possible to ensure the educational process begins without disruptions," the minister noted.

According to Butenko, the state is also working to support Ukrainian publishing houses whose production and logistics capacities were damaged by Russian strikes.

"We are already working on support mechanisms so that they can resume production and children receive the necessary textbooks as soon as possible," emphasized the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.
