Zelenskyy: Russia plans to recruit up to 50,000 North Koreans to participate in the war
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia plans to involve another 30 to 50 thousand North Koreans to perform tasks on its territory.
This was stated by Zelenskyy in an interview with the telethon aired on Saturday evening
"We must understand that Koreans appear on Russian territory from time to time, we see it, we know it. If at first it was about hundreds, then about thousands, now a decision has been made for 30 to 50 thousand North Koreans to be present on Russian territory.
They are studying this war. And if we are talking about crises and escalation in another direction, in the Pacific Ocean, about a possible threat to other states in the Asian direction, then North Korea will gain experience of modern warfare from Russia," Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy recalled that North Korean missiles have already been found on Ukrainian territory.
According to the president, the DPRK will accumulate experience of modern warfare and receive licenses from Russia, so South Korea "should maintain closer cooperation with Ukraine."
"We are open. We would very much like to receive support from South Korea in the form of what we lack — air defence systems. And we are ready to work in the direction of Drone Deal, etc. South Korea has a legal restriction under the Constitution, this is their choice. But we would like cooperation and count on it, our diplomats are conducting negotiations," Zelenskyy added.
