Zelenskyy: There is effectively not a single undamaged thermal power plant left in Ukraine

Russian strikes have caused massive damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As a result, the country’s preparation for the new heating season is taking place under extremely difficult conditions.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with media representatives in Belgrade.

According to the head of state, as a result of Russian attacks, virtually no thermal power plants remain undamaged.

«In Ukraine, there is virtually not a single intact thermal power plant left», — Zelenskyy stated.

The President noted that the scale of destruction of energy facilities creates additional difficulties for Ukraine’s preparation for winter.

«Due to Russian strikes, Ukraine is entering another winter under extremely difficult conditions», — he emphasized.

At the same time, Ukraine continues to cooperate with international partners to strengthen energy security.

Zelenskyy also reported plans to deepen energy cooperation with Serbia. In addition, he called for accelerating negotiations on creating a free trade zone between Ukraine and Serbia.

The head of state emphasized that Ukraine seeks an end to the war and continues to work with partners to achieve a just outcome.
