A Russian drone struck the SSU building in central Kyiv: a fire broke out near the Golden Gate

In the center of Kyiv near the Golden Gate metro station, an explosion occurred, after which thick smoke rose over the area. 

This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing eyewitnesses, as well as statements from Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred around 15:30. After that, thick smoke began rising in the Golden Gate area.

Vitaliy Klychko reported that a fire broke out in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district after a UAV fell on the roof of a non-residential building. “Emergency services are heading to the scene,” the mayor noted.

Later, Klychko reported one injured person who was hospitalized by medics.

The Zavertailo cafe chain also stated that their establishment near St. Sophia’s Cathedral was damaged.

Prior to this, monitoring channels reported several drones moving over Kyiv.
