In Lutsk, a fraudulent call center with 60 operators was exposed: property and equipment worth 10 million hryvnias were seized

In Lutsk, law enforcement officers prevented the operation of a fraudulent call center, through which the perpetrators planned to extort money from Ukrainians and citizens of EU countries under the guise of investments in cryptocurrency, securities, and currency markets.

According to police data, the organizer and some of his accomplices lived in Lviv, from where they managed the office in Lutsk through trusted persons.

The call center was designed for 60 operator workstations. They were to call potential clients, introduce themselves as financial analysts and brokers, and persuade them to invest in supposedly profitable investment projects.

In reality, the victims’ money was to be immediately transferred to controlled crypto wallets.

To make people believe in the success of the investments, their personal accounts were to artificially show rapid balance growth and supposedly profitable exchange transactions. In this way, the victims were to be convinced to invest even more funds.

To conceal the real location, the scheme participants used internet telephony and VPN services.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized equipment and other property worth approximately UAH 10 million.

Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying all persons involved in organizing the fraudulent call center and the circumstances of its operation.
