Ukraine will receive €3.2 billion for Patriot missiles from the EU’s €90 billion loan

The European Union has allowed the use of funds from a €90 billion loan to support Ukraine for the purchase of interceptors for American Patriot systems.

This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Under the rules, the loan is supposed to be used for purchasing weapons from European manufacturers, but an exception was made for the Patriot systems at Kyiv’s request.

Previously, Patriot interceptors were purchased through the PURPL program; now the purchases will be funded by the EU loan.
