The publication says that border guards took the guy from a hotel in the city of Vinohradiv, allegedly to establish his identity. In fact, he was taken to a border checkpoint and began to be accused of attempting to illegally cross the border.

After this, the already mobilized man was taken to the TRC of the city of Khust, where he was beaten until he decided to commit suicide.

The incident has already been confirmed by the press service of the Transcarpathian TRC in a comment to Suspilne.

TRC claims that on March 13, border guards detained a man attempting to illegally cross the border. He was taken to the TRC to clarify his military registration data.

While staying at the TRC, the man entered the toilet. After some time, a representative of the military registration and enlistment office found him; the man was sitting on the floor with traces of blood and cuts on his hands.

TRC employees provided medical assistance and called an ambulance, which took the man to Khust City Hospital. Doctors recorded a suicide attempt.

An internal investigation into this fact is being carried out, the department added.
