Zelenskyy signed decrees appointing 116 judges

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees appointing 116 judges as judges of local courts.

These are the first decrees on the appointment of judges since 2022.

The president’s website states that the decree was issued in three categories:

  • judges whose five-year term of office has expired and who passed the qualification assessment of judges under the new HQCJ
  • participants of the 2017 judicial selection process who were interviewed by the new HQCJ and HCJ
  • a group of judicial candidates whose applications were returned in 2016 by the then Presidential Administration to the HCJ and from there to the HQCJ. These candidates were also interviewed by the new HQCJ and HCJ.
