According to the declaration of Anatoliy Kurtyev, the former head of frontline Zaporizhzhya, he received only 565,000 hryvnias in 2023, or an average of about 47,000 hryvnias per month.

During the entire period of his work for the state, Anatoliy Kurtyev never indicated in his declarations that he had any cash savings. This means that he lived from paycheck to paycheck. Kurtyev’s declared house evokes only emotions: what a "people’s mayor", living like an ordinary Ukrainian in such a modest home.

NABU detectives found out where the head of Zaporizhzhya actually lived in the summer of 2022. Kurtiev rented an elite apartment in the centre of Zaporizhzhya at 52 Shkilna Street.

None of his declarations contain a record of renting an apartment and the amount of money he spent on it. His Toyota Land Cruiser 200 car did not appear in his declaration. And there was no mention in the declaration of the more than 9 million hryvnias that were found in Kurtyev’s apartment.

The secretary of Zaporizhzhya City Council stole humanitarian aid from international partners. Literally in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion, officials appropriated 22 sea containers, 389 railway wagons and 220 trucks with humanitarian aid from Europe, which they then sold through business entities under their control. The European humanitarian aid was then seen in the ATB and Silpo supermarkets, as well as in the Optima and Low Price Pharmacy chains.
