Explosions were heard in occupied Crimea: Russians announced a missile attack

On the night of Wednesday, May 15, a series of explosions were heard in occupied Crimea. There was unrest in Sevastopol, Simferopol, Bakhchysarai and Yevpatoriya, and a missile threat was declared on the peninsula.

Local residents confirmed the explosions, actively discussing the “claps” on social networks. “The whole of Simferopol woke up from the roar,” “Air defence is working in Crimea. It’s very loud in Simferopol!”, “Yevpatoriya. More than 20 explosions,” “The windows are shaking,” they wrote.

According to Ukrainian monitoring channels, in Yevpatoriya there were missiles arriving at the targets of the occupiers. Local “authorities” have not yet commented on the situation there.

Sevastopol

The so-called governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said that Russian air defence allegedly shot down several missiles over the water area and in the area of the Belbek airfield.

“All city services have been put on alert. The Sevastopol Rescue Service extinguished the fire from shrapnel that fell in the area of the village of Polyushko. No damage to civilian infrastructure has been recorded at this time,” he wrote.

Razvozhaev added that in the area of Fedorivska Street, fragments of the downed rocket fell in the private sector.

The type of downed missiles is being clarified; undetonated submunitions may be detected.

“Crimean residents! In the morning there will be many unexploded cassettes. Do not approach. If found, immediately call 112,” the occupiers wrote after the explosions.
