Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk said that those who question the legitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are enemies of Ukraine.

“Any persons who today, during the period of martial law, question the legitimacy of the President of Ukraine are enemies of Ukraine,” Stefanchuk said.

He noted that such persons spread false information.

“I really don’t want political nits to undermine the legitimacy of power in Ukraine,” the speaker added.

Stefanchuk noted that Article 108 of the Constitution clearly regulates the moment of completion of the exercise of presidential powers - this is the assumption of office by the newly elected president. At the same time, the law on the legal regime of martial law has a provision that all government bodies continue to operate until the special martial law regime is lifted.
