Ministry of Defence: Men aged 17-25 will be registered for military service without MMC

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution introducing automatic registration as conscripts for men aged 17 to 25.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence reported this.

In particular, the government supported the resolution developed by the Ministry of Defence on the procedure for implementing a pilot project for the automatic verification and checking of information about conscripts, military personnel and reservists.

The document stipulates that men aged 17 to 25 will be automatically registered for military service as conscripts, including those located abroad.

According to Deputy Minister for Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko, the process of registering conscripts will now be automated.

"The guys will not have to undergo a medical examination, and all the necessary data about them will be collected from other registers. This will significantly save time for both the TRC employees and the guys who will be registered," the deputy minister noted.

Also within the framework of this resolution there are two more innovations related to military registration.

First, data on all men aged 16 to 60 will be verified through information interaction with the State Migration Service, the Ministry of Justice and the Administration of the State Border Service.

This will update data on people and help avoid situations where summonses are sent to people who have died or were sentenced to imprisonment and are in custody. It will also help correct errors in personal data: full name, tax number, date of birth, etc.

Secondly, men from 16 to 25 years old who will apply for a passport will be automatically included in the Obereg registry without passing a military medical commission. This also applies to those who live abroad and apply for a passport at official Ukrainian missions.

Third, the relevance of military registration documents for men aged 18-60 located abroad will be checked through electronic information interaction with the State Migration Service. This will help avoid errors and human factors when checking military registration documents.

The Ministry of Defence worked on the resolution with the State Migration Service, the Administration of the State Border Service, the Ministry of Reintegration and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
