BYuT member Dubil offered Poroshenko support in the elections
The regional election headquarters of Petro Poroshenko in the Chernihiv region was headed by the "Udar" member Oleksandr Yakovenko, but his first statement caused a scandal in the regional center.
In his first television address, the head of the headquarters called on all political and civil organizations to unite their efforts for the future of Ukraine, as the teams of Vitaliy Klychko and Petro Poroshenko did at the congress on March 19. As an example, Oleksandr Yakovenko cited the Member of Parliament of Ukraine (Batkivshchyna faction) Valeriy Dubil.
According to Yakovenko, this deputy has repeatedly offered his support to Petro Poroshenko and his team within the Chernihiv region or the 212th district with its center in Pryluky.
"Such actions by Valeriy Dubil indicate his trust and high regard for Petro Poroshenko as a presidential candidate who can unite Ukraine and work for its development," said the head of Poroshenko’s headquarters in the Chernihiv region, noting the principled and moral nature of Valeriy Dubil in the context of his attempts to assist Poroshenko’s election campaign.
Valeriy Dubil was elected a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the 205th district (part of the city of Chernihiv) and was nominated by the Batkivshchyna party. In Chernihiv, Dubil is considered the business partner of Anatolii Myroshnychenko, who is currently the acting head of the regional organization of the Party of Regions. Both politicians are originally from Pryluky, and their business group is called "Europeans."
Following Oleksandr Yakovenko’s statement on the local TV channel "Dytynets," Valeriy Dubil called an urgent press conference where he denied supporting Petro Poroshenko and stated that he has always supported Yulia Tymoshenko and was appointed the acting head of her election headquarters in the Chernihiv region.
Chernihiv experts believe that the "Europe" group has always tried to "put eggs in different baskets." In recent years, they financed and headed the regional branches of BYuT and the Party of Regions. In the new realities, the priority for the "Europeans" is cooperation with Petro Poroshenko as the most likely winner of the presidential election.
