The family of the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region, Vitaliy Hersak, acquired real estate worth nearly $1.5 million after his dismissal. In particular, the ex-law enforcement officer acquired several new apartments in a premium-class residential complex and a number of parking spaces.

Furthermore, immediately after his dismissal, Hersak became an entrepreneur - he registered several private firms and even a charitable foundation. This is reported in an investigation by journalists from Bihus info.

According to journalists, in the summer of 2021, the wife of the former SSU officer bought two apartments in the capital, worth at least $650,000. In the same residential complex, the Hersak family purchased 6 parking spaces. The total cost of the parking spaces is about $220,000. Furthermore, the investigation states that a commercial space of 140 sq. m was purchased for the ex-law enforcement officer’s wife in the same complex for a beauty salon. Journalists estimated the cost of this space to be approximately $650,000.

Journalists also found that within a month of his dismissal, Hersak became the owner of several firms engaged in security activities, construction, and freight transport. Besides this, Hersak established his charitable foundation.

"The former SSU officer established a foundation named after himself and now provides free meals and distributes food packages in his native Haisyn," the journalists reported.

It should be noted that Vitaliy Hersak held the position of head of the SSU in the Mykolaiv region from September 2019 to November 2020.
