President Zelenskyy explained why he dismissed Zaluzhnyi and replaced key leadership of the Armed Forces
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained the dismissal of Valeriy Zaluzhnyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a need to "reset" the army leadership. He said that it was about "things that have not changed for a long time", but did not specify which ones.
The Ukrainian leader spoke about this in an interview with the American channel FoxNews . They emphasized that the conversation was recorded in a location near the front line - literally 2.5 km from enemy positions.
Journalists asked why the Commander-in-Chief and key leadership of the Armed Forces were replaced in Ukraine. Zelenskyy responded that this is a “reboot, restructuring and change of management” of the Ukrainian military command.
According to him, this is not about “changing the course of our actions,” but only “about things that have not changed for a long time.”

"We have to be faster, which means we have to cut through all the bureaucracy that we have. We have no other chance. We have to be smart, technologically equipped and fast. Time is money, and in our case it is not money, but people’s lives,” Zelenskyy said.
Journalists recalled the presentation of the Hero of Ukraine to General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and asked whether this award means that he “will continue to support the president’s policies or, perhaps, go into opposition.” In response, Zelenskyy stated that “this is Zaluzhnyi’s choice.”
“He defended our nation and our country. I gave him the title of Hero of Ukraine because I am very grateful to him for this,” the president said.
