Humenyuk clarifies the situation with Transnistria

The section of the border between Ukraine and the unrecognized Transnistria has been reliably protected since the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Official Kyiv understood the threat from the very beginning.

This statement was made by the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Natalya Humenyuk. She spoke about this on air at the All-Ukrainian telethon.

Humenyuk emphasized that the situation on the section of the Ukrainian border from Transnistria is under the control of the defense forces.

“The situation is under the control of the Defense Forces. As for the section of the border with unrecognized Transnistria, it is reliably protected, fortified, and its defenses were drawn up at the beginning of a full-scale invasion and have been provided by the Defense Forces all this time,” she said.

The speaker also noted that Ukraine had long been aware of the danger of this direction, so control over this area was strengthened from the very beginning. According to her, the threat from the contingent in the PMR is not high.

“Now we can say that this does not pose anything more than information hoaxes. The contingent in the PMR has been fully studied by us. We know how to counter it, we are ready. But that contingent does not pose a critical threat,” she said she.
