Ukraine may receive F-16s as early as July, but only a few, - NYT
The New York Times writes about this.
The fighters are ready and the instructor pilots are waiting at a new training center in Romania, created to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 combat aircraft. But there’s a catch: Ukrainian pilots have yet to arrive, despite claims made last summer that the center was playing a crucial role in getting them into the air to defend their country from deadly Russian strikes, the newspaper writes.
It is noted that Ukrainian pilots are preparing. Twelve pilots - less than a full squadron - should be ready to fly the F-16 by this summer after 10 months of training in Denmark, Britain and the United States.
“But by the time the pilots return to Ukraine, of the 45 fighters promised by European allies, only six F-16s will be delivered,” the material says.
