In Odesa, officials of the HMD misappropriated funds allocated for fuel for the Armed Forces

Investigators have already informed two officials of the Odesa Housing and Maintenance Department of the Ministry of Defence and one private entrepreneur about suspicion of corruption.

The regional police reported this.

Investigators found that the head of the fuel group of the Odesa HMD, in order to seize state funds allocated for the purchase of solid fuel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, created a crime group, which included an engineer from the design and estimate group of the HMD and an individual entrepreneur.

When conducting procurement, HMD officials set the price of the goods above the market price and ensured that the required “winner” was determined, to whom public funds were subsequently transferred. As a result of the illegal actions of the criminal group, damage amounting to more than 368 thousand hryvnia was caused.
