Ukrainian defender shoots down a missile flying towards Kyiv from a "Stinger"
A Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter shot down a Russian cruise missile using a Stinger man-portable anti-aircraft missile system. The enemy target was flying towards Kyiv during a massive Russian shelling.
It was eliminated by an anti-aircraft gunner of the 1st mechanized battalion of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. The corresponding video was published by the brigade’s press service.
On March 21, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. 31 missiles were destroyed by air defence forces, three of them by soldiers of the Separate Presidential Brigade and subordinate units.
One of the missiles heading for Kyiv was destroyed by anti-aircraft gunner of the 1st Mechanized Battalion Dmytro.
"Eat!" – the anti-aircraft gunner joyfully exclaimed when the fragments of the struck Russian missile were already flying down.
It is noteworthy that before mobilization he was the deputy director of a machine-building plant, and now he is defending the capital’s sky with the Stinger.
