Ukraine can receive 1.5 million shells as part of the Czech initiative, – Lypavskyi
The Ukrainian military may receive twice as many shells as part of the Czech initiative. Possible supplies of 1.5 million artillery ammunition.
This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lypavskyi, Bloomberg reports.
“We can do much more than the initially announced amount (we are talking about 800 thousand ammunition for Ukraine - ed.),” the minister said, noting that a total of one and a half million shells could be transferred to our country.
He clarified that financing of the first supplies of ammunition is necessary before their shipment to Ukraine begins. Therefore, the Czech initiative by itself will not be sufficient to support our country.
According to Lipavsky, the Czech initiative is already bearing fruit and is influencing the fighting in Ukraine, despite the fact that the supply of shells has not yet begun.
“As we can see, this is already helping Ukraine fight better because they know that they will have fresh supplies of ammunition, which has changed their view on the use of current stocks,” he added.
At the same time, the head of the Foreign Ministry refused to name the timing of the delivery of shells to Ukraine.
