Chernihiv region: SSU detained head of MMC

On 4 April, SSU officers detained the head of the military medical commission in Chernihiv region. A law enforcement source told Suspilne that it was Viktor Luhin.

According to the source, he was detained as part of the investigation into the case of Ihor Kodovbetskyi, the former head of the Chernihiv regional military military commission, suspected of organizing a scheme to evade mobilization and illegally travel abroad for men of military age. Kodovbetskyi was detained on February 22; during searches of his house, law enforcement officers found almost one million US dollars in cash and more than 22 thousand euros.

Currently, Kodovbetskyi has been informed of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• Part 5 Art. 27, part 3 art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or obtaining of undue benefit by an official);
• Part 1 Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations);
• Part 3 Art. 332 (illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine).

On April 5, the Desnyanskyi District Court sent Viktor Lugin into custody without the right to bail. For now - until April 16. Suspilnoe is ready to provide Viktor Lugin with the right to comment in future publications. Suspilnoe also asked the press service of the regional department of the SBU for an official comment. They promised to provide a comment later.
