The media learned the details of the shooting by the military of police officers in the Vinnytsia region, who were detained today.

"In the police car, there were two police officers and one civilian who was being taken to the police station to draw up a report on domestic violence.

After Vitaliy Vasylake punched police officer Maksym Sharapanskyi, his partner, the deceased police officer Maksym Zaretskyi, got out of the patrol car and opened fire with his service weapon. At that moment, Valeriy Vasilake opened fire on the police officer with a TT pistol, killing police officer Zaretsky and wounding Sharapansky in the left buttock," the law enforcement source said.

He also added that the soldiers Valeriy Vasylake and his son Vitaliy Vasylake were serving in the A0416 unit located in Chornomorsk. But they left it without permission on the eve of the crime.

"On 19 April at 18.00 they left the territory of the military unit without permission. Valeriy Vasilake took a service TT pistol with him, which he used to shoot at the police," the source said.
