SBI served notice of suspicion to military involved in shooting of police officers in Vinnytsia region

Information regarding the theft of explosives and weapons by suspects from a unit of their military unit is also being verified.

According to the investigation, on April 19, 2024, servicemen - father and son - left the military unit in the Odesa region without permission. They stole the service pistol that was assigned to one of them. Subsequently, at about 2 a.m. on April 20, 2024 in the Vinnytsia region, the defendants shot the police and fled the scene.

Law enforcement officers detained them on April 21, 2024 in the village of Lypetske, Podolsk district, Odesa region. The case was initiated under Art. 348 (murder or attempted murder of a law enforcement officer).
