Defense Express spoke about the occupiers’ plan to “capture” Kharkiv
According to analyst Ivan Kyrychevskyi, the enemy will not be able to take control of the city in the east, but this will divert Ukrainian resources from performing combat missions in other areas.
Over the past few months, the network continues to talk about the fact that the Russian occupiers intend to launch a large-scale offensive in the near future, which should supposedly affect Kharkiv as well. Defence Express expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi spoke on Radio NV about what the consequences could be.
According to him, we should indeed expect Russians to become more active at the front. In particular, this is based on a statement by representatives of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) that the enemy is amassing a group of 35-70,000 occupants in the Belgorod region, from where a "banzai offensive on Kharkiv region" could begin.
“The problem is that they will not be able to achieve the military goal - to reach Kharkiv. It turns out that they may have large losses from this, fortunately. But on the other hand, they will thereby divert our resources. That is why the “banzai offensive” "This is not to devalue the efforts of the enemy or to say that he is weak, but (assessing - ed.) what the result will be. Just a suicidal throw on their part, which will drink blood to us," said Ivan Kyrychevskyi.
In this regard, the expert continues, events on the battlefield in the eastern direction will develop in such a way as to prevent the invaders from accumulating a sufficient number of fighters. In this case, the enemy’s plan will fail and go to the rest, which were never implemented.
Also, the daily losses of the Russian Armed Forces have already increased. Weapons from Western partners continue to help attack enemy training grounds on a daily basis. All this significantly depletes the potential of Russians. We should also not exclude the possibility that the current plan will be slightly changed.
“We now also have a situation where we need to mobilize Western attention as much as possible so that they do not relax and do not sleep there; and at the same time, win for ourselves the best possible positions (in every sense of the word) just before this period, which will come in the conditional second half 2025, when, according to DIU estimates, we can have meaningful negotiations with the Russians. That is why now we need to storm the West with various panicky statements in order to somehow, perhaps, influence the speed of deliveries of certain systems. Air defence," summed up Ivan Kyrychevskyi.
