In the Netherlands, 10 Ukrainian military personnel completed training in F-16 maintenance

Ten Ukrainian military personnel completed training in the Netherlands to maintain F-16 fighter jets.

This was reported to the Dutch Ministry of Defence.

The Netherlands has agreed to provide Ukraine with at least 24 F-16 fighter jets. They also need to be serviced.

The Ukrainians practiced servicing all parts important for a fighter pilot. We are talking about the helmet, oxygen systems and parachutes on board.

The training also included the creation and testing of an emergency response package. This allows the pilot to survive for several days after an emergency landing. It contains, among other things, food and medicine.

The training prepares cadets for all possible risks while flying the F-16. Ultimately, this will also provide better protection for Ukrainian pilots.

The training program was developed by the VVU cluster. "F16 pilots essentially put their lives in the hands of the soldiers maintaining the aircraft. As soon as they take off, they know that they can rely on the knowledge and skills of these people and that the aircraft will be fine," the Dutch Ministry of Defence said.

The Netherlands is also one of the initiators of the establishment of the European F-16 Training Center (EFTC) in Romania. 11 F-16 aircraft have already been made available to the EFTC.
