Emergency power outages are being introduced in 7 regions, - Ukrenergo

Ukrenergo was forced to apply emergency power outages in several regions. The reason for this is excess consumption exceeding limits.

Emergency shutdowns in 7 regions of Ukraine

The company noted that, despite Ukrenergo’s repeated demands for oblenergos to comply with the limits brought to the region, consumption in the Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions continued to grow.

When consumption significantly exceeded the limits, Ukrenergo was forced to apply emergency shutdowns from 2:25 p.m., and from 2:50 p.m., special emergency shutdown schedules for household and industrial consumers in these regions. There may be interruptions in the power supply to critical infrastructure facilities,
– the message says.

The restrictions will remain in effect until consumption levels in the regions return to within the limits. Then oblenergos will be able to return to the planned schedule of restrictions.
