According to Putin, after Washington stops sending weapons to Kyiv, the fighting will end in “two to three months.”

“What needs to be done to stop the fighting in Ukraine. I can tell you, as a representative of the United States, what I once told Mr. Biden (Joe - US President - ed.). He once sent me a letter, I answered him in writing: if you want to stop hostilities in Ukraine, stop supplying weapons. And these actions will stop within two, maximum three months,” Putin answered a question from James Jordan, editor-in-chief of the AP Europe and Africa news service.

The Russian president noted that no one should interfere with the possible “peace process”. Putin recalled that in 2022, Kyiv was allegedly ready to initial a draft agreement with Moscow in Istanbul, but the West wants to “achieve Russia’s defeat,” so it ordered Ukraine to refuse.

“Why was it necessary to prevent us and Ukraine from signing this agreement?” – the Kremlin leader asked rhetorically.
