IAEA: A mine exploded at Zaporizhzhya NPP
A team of IAEA observers recorded the sound of an explosion at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.
This is reported on the IAEA website.
It is noted that the mine exploded on June 11 next to the cooling pond. No one was injured as a result of the explosion, and there was no destruction.
“This latest explosion, which occurred so close to the plant, is of grave concern and worsens an already fragile situation,” said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
On Monday, IAEA experts visited one of the electrical substations in the city of Energodar, neighboring the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The goal was to monitor the consequences of a possible shelling, which, according to ZNPP, occurred on June 8 and led to a fire and damage to the substation serving the building of the Energodar City Council, where the main communication hub between ZNPP and Energodar is located.
