Canada announces $38 million support package for Ukraine
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Peace Summit announced a package of measures to support Ukraine worth 52.4 million Canadian dollars (about 38.1 million US dollars).

Canada’s announced package of support for Ukrainians includes C$15 million ($10.9 million) to support vulnerable children, at-risk youth, and the reintegration of displaced children returning to Ukraine by improving child protection services and family care; improving access to justice for victims of war crimes; raising awareness among families and civil society about the process of searching for missing persons; supporting male survivors of war-related sexual violence, including prisoners of war.
20 million Canadian dollars ($14.5 million) will be allocated to support Ukraine’s immediate efforts to restore damaged energy equipment and infrastructure.
In addition, C$15.4 million ($11.2 million) will be invested in: the International Monetary Fund for efforts to help Ukraine obtain the technical assistance and training needed for economic reforms and entry into the European Union; to improve Ukraine’s ability to safely clear its territory of mines and other explosive remnants of war; to provide the Ukrainian government with technical assistance from Canadian government experts in the justice and energy sectors.
In addition, the Government of Canada is also investing C$2 million ($1.5 million) to support the safe and secure operation of nuclear facilities in Ukraine through the International Atomic Energy Agency.
