Situation at the frontline: Occupants attacked Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near Vovchansk

Since the beginning of the day, Russian occupation forces have twice attacked the positions of Defence Forces units in the Vovchansk area. Combat operations in this direction continue.

This is stated in the operational report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on June 17 regarding the Russian invasion. In total, since the beginning of the day on June 17, 42 military clashes have already occurred.

At the same time, during June 16, 123 military clashes occurred. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy carried out two missile attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas, using 3 missiles, as well as 45 air strikes (including 66 CABs) and more than 3,500 attacks, including 93 from multiple launch rocket systems.

The total losses of Russian troops in manpower amounted to 1080 people. The enemy also lost two tanks, 18 armored combat vehicles, 14 artillery systems, eight OTR unmanned aerial vehicles, 24 vehicles and 12 units of special equipment. Aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also attacked 10 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.

Since the beginning of these days, 42 military clashes have already occurred. The occupiers carried out 27 kamikaze drone attacks and more than 500 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and peaceful settlements.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy twice attacked the positions of Defence Forces units in the Vovchansk area, where hostilities continue. According to updated information, yesterday in this direction the Russians lost 175 invaders killed and wounded, two cars and a piece of special equipment of the aggressor were destroyed. 33 enemy personnel shelters and an ammunition depot were also hit.

In the Kupyansk direction, the battle with the invaders continues in the Pischane area, the situation there is under control.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy is actively attacking in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka and Torske, where seven firefights took place. The situation is also under control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

In the Siversk sector, two hostile attacks on Ukrainian positions continue near Vyimka and Rozdolivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, two unsuccessful combat engagements took place near Klishchiyivka since the beginning of the day.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy made 14 attempts to force our defenders out of their positions. One attack on Novooleksandrivka was repelled. Active hostilities continue in the areas of Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske and Novooleksandrivka, where the enemy is particularly active.

According to the updated data, the enemy suffered significant losses in the Pokrovsk sector yesterday: 321 occupants were killed or wounded, our troops destroyed or damaged one armoured combat vehicle and destroyed five enemy dugouts.

In the Kurakhove sector, the enemy is trying to break through our defences in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Paraskoviivka. Four attacks were successfully repelled by the Ukrainian military. An assault near Krasnohorivka is underway.

According to updated data, Russian troop losses in this area over the past 24 hours amounted to 60 people killed or wounded, and an enemy electronic warfare station was destroyed.

In the Orikhove direction, the aggressor unsuccessfully tried to oust Ukrainian soldiers from their positions in the Rabotyne and Mala Tokmachka areas.

In other areas the situation remains stable and without significant changes.

Thanks to a flexible defense system and well-organized actions of units, the Ukrainian military confidently holds its positions. In some places they are conducting active operations. For example, in the Donetsk region, our military captured an enemy tank and took several Russian occupiers prisoner.
