In Lviv, the occupiers attacked a scientific research institute at night

At night, the Lviv region was attacked by Russian "shahids". The air defence forces managed to shoot down all five drones, said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv RMA. However, the wreckage of the “shaheds” caused destruction in Lviv and the surrounding area, at least two people were injured. Destruction of the urban community in Malekhiv and in the city itself.

According to the West air command, during the first night alert, which lasted from 02:32 to 03:35, four Russian drones flew into the airspace of the Lviv region. About an hour later, another suicide bomber tried to attack the area.

The remains of the drones fell on the village of Malekhiv in the Lviv community, authorities initially reported.

The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, then published on Telegram photographs of the partially destroyed house of one of the research institutes in Lvov itself.

He showed a photo of the destruction in one of the residential areas of Malekhiv.

“A multi-storey residential building was damaged. 20 windows were broken. In the private sector, windows in 5 buildings were broken,” he said.

The head of the Lviv RMA, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that a 70-year-old man was hospitalized in Malekhiv in a moderate condition, suffering from acubarotrauma, multiple shrapnel wounds and several fractures. Another victim, a 47-year-old man, received cut wounds and was treated on the spot.

Andrei Sadovyi said that the injured 70-year-old man is a security guard at one of the office premises.

In total, the Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down 19 out of 21 Shahed-type drones launched by Russia at night.

In June, Russia launched several massive attacks on Ukraine in the rear regions. The main targets of the attacks are energy infrastructure, as well as military airfields, in particular in Starokostyantyniv.

Usually Russians near Lviv attack gas storage facilities in Stryi and energy enterprises. There have been no strikes on Lviv itself on the border with Poland for several months.
