The State Energy Supervision Service will conduct an in-depth inspection of the application of hourly power outage schedules by regional power distribution companies and the fair distribution of electricity in the regions.

The head of the department, Ruslan Slobodyan, said this during the telethon.

“We are closely monitoring the flow of citizens’ appeals regarding the unfair distribution (of electricity – ed.). And we already see several areas where, apparently, an in-depth inspection will take place in the near future. On the ground, it will be studied how exactly the distribution system operator adhered to the principle of social justice in the distribution of electricity,” Slobodyan said.

According to him, the Dnipropetrovsk region leads in the number of complaints. The inspection will begin with it, after which another 5-6 regions will be checked.

There are reasonable suspicions, Slobodyan added, that some regional power companies “did not apply hourly outage schedules quite correctly.”
