Residents of occupied Berdyansk left without electricity and water

On Friday, August 9, the occupation authorities of the city of Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhya region reported another large-scale breakthrough in the water supply network. The accident occurred on the D-600 water pipeline.

The head of the Berdyansk State Military Administration Victoriya Halitsyna reported this on her Telegram channel.

According to her, as a result of the breakdown in the utility networks, the following neighbourhoods were left without water again: AKZ, RTS, Lampovyi, Kabelnikov and Berda Station.

The official noted that the invaders promised to repair everything this morning. However, part of Berdiansk is still without water supply.

"Berdiansk needs a serious financial audit of all the funds that have come from Russia over the past two years. And in the whole region. All communications in the resort city are completely unusable. The city is completely without water, they lie about the reasons every day, water utility workers have been without pay for three months, they write that the director has made a mess and law enforcement is not dealing with it," Berdiansk residents write on social media.

Meanwhile, power cuts are being announced in other neighbourhoods.

"On 11.08.24, 12.08.24 and 13.08.24, from 08:00 to 20:00, due to scheduled maintenance works, there will be no electricity supply in the city of Berdiansk in the Slobodka and Koloniya neighbourhoods," the local pseudo-authorities said.

According to Halitsyna, utility collapses have become a commonplace for Berdiansk residents.

"The local authorities are completely absent, where and what are a bunch of deputies and law enforcement agencies of the city doing?" ask concerned residents of Berdiansk.
