Ukrainian paratroopers showed footage of the first hours of the operation in Kursk region

"The first hours of the offensive operation of the Defence Forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation on August 6, 2024. A day that will go down in the history of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Careful preparation, planning, surprise, fighting spirit and information silence became decisive at the initial stage of the operation," the paratroopers noted.

The command of the Airborne Assault Unit reports that in the first hours of the operation, Ukrainian troops demined, broke through the border, and destroyed the enemy’s defensive lines. Aviation and artillery also worked. In addition, the first Russian soldiers were already captured in the first hours.

"Now everything depends on the resilience of the Ukrainian soldier of all branches of the armed forces involved in the operation," the DSHU added.
