Situation at the front: the enemy lost about 350 occupiers in the Pokrovsk direction

This was reported with reference to operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook as of 22:00 on 16.08.2024.

"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 99 combat clashes, the enemy launched five missile strikes, using seven missiles, 56 air strikes - dropped 69 CABs, used 687 kamikaze drones for strikes and carried out 3,371 shelling of our troops’ positions and weapons settlements," the publication says.

In the Kharkiv sector, the occupants carried out nine attacks near Lypky and Vovchansk over the last day. Ukrainian Armed Forces units successfully repelled seven assaults, and two more engagements are ongoing. According to preliminary information, since the beginning of the day, the enemy’s losses amounted to 87 occupants killed and wounded, a tank, one armoured personnel carrier, four vehicles and five units of special equipment were destroyed. In addition, six enemy artillery systems, an armoured combat vehicle, three units of special equipment and four vehicles were severely damaged. Moreover, our troops destroyed 40 dugouts and other occupants’ shelters.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces registered 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Hlushkivka, Andriivka and Kruhliakivka, three of them are ongoing, the situation is under control.

The enemy attacked six times in the Lyman sector, unsuccessfully trying to advance in the areas of Makiivka, Torske and Nevske.

In the Siversk sector, our defenders repelled seven enemy assaults in the areas of Verkhnyokamyanske, Pereizne and Spirne.

Three combat engagements took place in the Kramatorsk sector. Occupants were active in the area of Chasiv Yar and Hryhorivka. All the enemy’s attempts to push our troops back proved to be in vain.

The enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break into our defences in the Toretsk sector 11 times. During the day, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers near the settlements of Diliyivka, Pivnichne, Toretsk, Zalizne, Nelipivka and New York. Our defenders repelled 10 attacks, and one attack is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, fierce fighting has been taking place in the areas of Panteleymonivka, Vodyane, Vozdvyzhenka, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Novozhelanne, Ptyche and Zelene Pole. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 28 enemy offensive and assault attacks. Nine more combat engagements are ongoing. Our troops are taking measures to hold the designated lines and positions. Today’s enemy losses tentatively amount to 138 killed and 212 wounded occupants, and Ukrainian troops destroyed two artillery systems, 6 UAVs, two motorcycles, two vehicles and two special vehicles. In addition, an infantry fighting vehicle, six vehicles, a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher and six enemy artillery systems were heavily damaged.

There have been 10 unsuccessful combat engagements in the Kurakhove sector so far. The invaders remain most active near Krasnohorivka and Kostyantynivka.

In the Vremivsk sector, one firefight took place in the direction of Kostiantynivka.

In the Orikhivsk sector, our troops repelled another enemy attack in the area of Mala Tokmachka.

In the Dnipro direction, units of our troops successfully repelled three enemy assaults on our positions.
