Zelenskyy signed the law banning Russian Orthodox Church

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law banning the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) and related organizations in Ukraine.

The Rada website reports this.

As stated on the Rada website, Zelenskyy received the law for signature on August 23, 2024, on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day.

This means that after the law comes into force, Ukrainian churches suspected of collaborating with the Russian Orthodox Church will have 9 months to sever ties.
