Occupiers hit Yampil in Sumy region with CAB: photos published online
During Wednesday, September 4, the troops of the aggressor state Russia again carried out large-scale shelling of border communities in the Sumy region. During the day, 15 communities came under enemy fire, as a result of which seven civilians were injured. The enemy dropped a CAB on the settlement of Yampol, law enforcement officers began an investigation.
This became known from the official Telegram channel of the Sumy Regional Military Administration. They noted that in total, Russian occupiers carried out 52 shellings of border territories and settlements in the region, including 149 explosions.
The enemy dropped CABs on peaceful settlements, used ammunition from drones, attacked with FPV drones, shelled cities with artillery, mortars, grenade launchers and multiple launch rocket systems.
The largest number of victims was recorded in the Yampil community - six victims were registered. As reported by the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation has been launched into the fact of an airstrike by Russian troops on civilian infrastructure on the border of the Sumy region - the occupiers dropped a CAB on the settlement of Yampil in the Shostka district.
Men aged 36 and 62, as well as women aged 56 and 72, were injured. Private homes and government institutions were also damaged.
"Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are recording the consequences of the shelling. In the future, the materials of the criminal proceedings will be transferred to the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Sumy region," the statement says.
According to the head of the Yampil village, Olha Hubar, many residential buildings in the village were significantly damaged; their exact number is currently being determined by a special commission.
"There are hits in the private sector, houses are destroyed, but people are alive. Our operational headquarters is already working, all residents who have suffered losses can contact the village council, we have financial assistance for the first time, and then a commission survey will be conducted and the data will be entered into a single register of damaged property," Suspilne reports the village head as saying.
In addition, the enemy fired at the Sveska community from a MLRS (8 explosions were recorded), as a result of which a local resident was injured.
