The financial situation of Ukrainian businessman and former oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi continues to deteriorate significantly while he is in pretrial detention.

According to Forbes Ukraine, his financial empire has suffered another devastating blow, losing 22% of its value in a year.

The empire’s fall began in 2022. As recently as February 2022, Kolomoiskyi boasted a fortune of $1.8 billion. However, by November of this year, that figure had fallen by a billion, to $850 million. Today, Forbes estimates the oligarch’s wealth at $660 million, a staggering 22% drop over the past year. Overall, Kolomoiskyi has lost nearly two-thirds of his fortune since February 2022.

Let us recall that in Ukraine, Kolomoiskyi, among other things, lost such assets as PryvatBank, Ukrnafta, Ukrtatnafta, Poltavaoblenergo. But he still remains the owner of an impressive portfolio of foreign assets. Among them:

  • 500,000 sq. ft. of commercial real estate in Ohio.
  • Iron and steel mills in Kentucky, West Virginia and Michigan.
  • A cell phone manufacturing plant in Illinois.
  • Commercial real estate in Texas.

In addition, the oligarch continues to own significant liquid assets. The most impressive of these is the 90-meter superyacht Lauren L, worth $97 million. Interestingly, the price of this luxury yacht is comparable to the valuation of the entire Privat gas station network, one of Kolomoisky’s key assets in Ukraine.
