Occupiers prepare for defence near Pokrovsk, - military
The Ukrainian Defence Forces managed to stop Russian troops in the Pokrovsk-Kurakhove direction of the front, and in some areas the occupiers have already begun to dig trenches to maintain defence.
This was reported by the officer of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handzyuk of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Tsekhotskyi.
He noted that during the massive assaults, the Russians reduced the number of attacks because they could not determine who was their own and who was the enemy, and who to shoot at.
"Who knows how the Pokrovsk operation will end. For some reason, everyone assumes that Pokrovsk will be surrendered, and that this will be a second Bakhmut. I would not like to think so and I am sure that the result could be completely opposite. At the moment, there are battles going on, our task is to exhaust the enemy, to destroy him," Tsekhotskyi emphasized.
The officer reported that Russian troops are actively shelling Pokrovsk, and everything is already burning there, but the city is holding out.
According to him, when Russians see piles of corpses and a large number of wounded, it negatively affects their emotional state: "But now they are still toxic, very dangerous, because they have weapons. They are given a lot of ammunition. The artillery has started shelling again, just like before, and there are a lot of enemy drones flying in the sky."
Tsekhotskyi added that the Defence Forces command sees the enemy’s advance on Myrnohrad, attempts to capture Selydove and Kurakhove, and all these options are being taken into account: "We see and take measures to prevent their further advance. As for the environment, we are watching and destroying it, and I hope that something good will come out of this situation."
