An employee of the district territorial recruitment and social support center (TRC and SS) in the Ternopil region has been charged with selling humanitarian vehicles that were supposed to go to the front.
This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defence Sphere of the Western Region.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defence Sphere of the Western Region, a 46-year-old serviceman of the district territorial recruitment and social support center has been notified of suspicion regarding the sale of humanitarian aid goods (items) with the purpose of making a profit, committed on a large scale during martial law (Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the report says.
The investigation found that the man was selling vehicles imported into Ukraine through charitable foundations, which were supposed to be transferred to military formations for free.
The prosecutor’s office discloses details of the case: "It has been established that he found ’clients’ among servicemen and for $13,200 offered to buy Opel Frontera, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Nissan X-Trail. These humanitarian vehicles were stored on the territory of the TRC."
Law enforcement officers documented the criminal activities of the soldier and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Prosecutors filed a petition with the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.

The article provides for imprisonment for a term of 5 to 7 years with a three-year deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities and confiscation of property.
