Russian forces have occupied about 50% of the city of Toretsk in the Donetsk region.
This was reported by the head of the Toretsk city military administration, Vasyl Chynchyk, during the "United News" telethon on Friday, October 11.
«Approximately 40−50% of the city of Toretsk remains under Ukrainian control, while the rest of the territory is under occupation. The enemy is doing everything possible to capture the city in the shortest possible time,» stated Chynchyk.
He noted that the occupiers did not manage to advance in Toretsk over the past day, and the Ukrainian Defence Forces are holding their positions.
Currently, the evacuation from Toretsk, according to Chynchyk, is ongoing but in a limited mode. Over the past day, seven people have been evacuated from the community’s territory.
About 1,150 people remain in the city, added the head of the military-civil administration.
