SSU in Donetsk region detained a traitor in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In the Donetsk region, a 22-year-old unmanned aerial vehicle operator from one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which is maintaining defense in the Kramatorsk direction, was detained. The traitor was leaking the locations of his unit to the enemy.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).
"According to case materials, the traitor was leaking to an enemy intelligence officer the locations of his UAV unit, which was adjusting fire on the Rashists attacking Chasiv Yar," the SSU reports.
The Russians planned to use the leaked information to strike the positions of Ukrainian UAV operators.
In particular, the traitor tried to pass the coordinates of other AFU units in the Chasiv Yar area to the enemy.
SSU military counterintelligence officers uncovered the "mole" in advance and prevented these enemy strikes on the locations of Ukrainian forces.
"According to the investigation, the suspect came to the attention of the occupiers due to his pro-Kremlin comments in Russian Telegram channels, where he supported Russia’s war against Ukraine," adds the SSU.
During searches, mobile phones containing evidence of working for the enemy were seized.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - state treason committed under martial law.
He is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment.
