In Zakarpattia, a new scheme for evaders was uncovered: they were boarding the train on the move

In Zakarpattia, law enforcement officers and border guards uncovered a new scheme for military conscripts to cross the state border. The organizers attempted to "board" the draft dodger onto a train headed to Hungary.

For this, they received 10,000 dollars from him. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region and on the website of the State Border Guard Service.

"For 10,000 dollars, the offenders transported their clients on the international train "Chop – Budapest" bypassing the official procedures of border and customs control," reported the police.

A minor was involved in the scheme, whose task was to pass through customs and border control and open the door of the designated carriage after the train departed from the international station. The military conscript was to board the train while it was moving.

"The border crossing was to take place in the dark. One of the accomplices brought the man to the place where the train slowed down, and another member of the scheme was in the carriage and was to open the door and help the ’client’ board. It was at this moment that the SBGS and National Police operatives apprehended the offenders," added the border guards.

The organizer of the scheme turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of Uzhhorod, who involved three other people.

The organizers were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The accomplices, who resisted during the arrest, were detained administratively under Article 185-10 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
