In Zakarpattia, the head of the RTRC and the deputy of the TD battalion commander were caught taking a bribe

In Zakarpattia, law enforcement officers uncovered the head of a district territorial recruitment center and the deputy commander of one of the territorial defense brigades. They offered a conscript to avoid mobilization for money. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, the TRC head offered assistance for $5,000 to a conscript in passing the military medical commission, obtaining unfitness status for service, and removing from military registration. The territorial defense officer, in turn, promised for a fee to "solve the issue" regarding the recognition of the conscript as unfit for service based on health and exclusion from military registration.

"The cost of ’services’ ranged from $4,000 to $6,000, depending on the complexity of agreements with TRC colleagues," the report states.

Currently, the decision is being made regarding the selection of preventive measures and removal from official duties. An investigation is also underway into other individuals’ involvement in criminal schemes.

The district TRC and SS head is charged with accepting a proposal, promise, or receiving undue benefit by an official (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The deputy brigade commander is charged with abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
