In the Kursk region, 50,000 Russian military personnel are opposing the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are containing a Russian military group with a strength of 50,000 personnel. Thanks to this operation, these occupiers cannot be redeployed to other directions of the front on our territory.

Zelenskyy said this in his traditional evening address to Ukrainians on Monday, November 11th. In the morning, he received a detailed report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, regarding the situation on the front line, especially in the Kurakhove and other directions in the Donetsk region, as well as concerning the Kursk operation.

"We greatly appreciate the bravery of all our soldiers, every unit involved in these battles. I also want to highlight all our forces that are striking Russian bases, logistics, and rear positions. The strikes by our forces on Russian arsenals have reduced the amount of artillery used by the occupier, and this is noticeable on the front," the president emphasized.

That is why, he said, we need long-range solutions from partners – from America, Britain, Germany. This is extremely important because the further our existing missiles and drones can strike, the less real combat strength Russia will have.

Zelenskyy also talked about the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. The main issue discussed was the protection of our skies.

"There are good results in strengthening the air defence, and we will continue to build on this experience. We are preparing further organizational and technical enhancements to the system of mobile fire groups, as well as work with drones. This is an obvious priority," the president noted.
