In Volyn, a man was detained while attempting to illegally cross the border with Belarus

In the Volyn region, a border patrol caught another violator of the state border red-handed. He tried to bribe a State Border Service officer to enter Belarus for a few thousand dollars.

The evader faces criminal charges for this. The press service of the State Border Service reported the incident.

It is reported that a 26-year-old man planned to illegally enter the Republic of Belarus from the territory of the Volyn region.

For this, he offered a border service representative a bribe of $3000. The serviceman immediately reported this to the State Border Service’s respective security service.

"The violator was detained during the transfer of the first part of the amount - $2000," the report states.

The man has been charged under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for criminal liability for offering undue advantage to an official.
