Ukraine does not plan to develop nuclear weapons. It will continue to adhere to the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

This was reported by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, on Twitter.

"Ukraine is committed to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; we do not have, are not developing, and do not plan to develop nuclear weapons," Tykhyi emphasized.

He reminded that Ukraine actively cooperates with the International Atomic Energy Agency and is fully open to IAEA monitoring, which "makes it impossible to use nuclear materials for military purposes."
