Head of the disbanded department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Ryabenko continues to receive a million-dollar salary

The head of the disbanded specialized prosecution in the field of oversight of criminal proceedings on war crimes and in the defence-industrial sector, Hryhoriy Ryabenko, continues to receive a substantial salary every month.

This information was discovered by the media from his 2023 declaration.

Since the end of 2020, Hryhoriy Ryabenko has been the head of a non-existing structure, as it was reformed into a special prosecution in the defence sector. Despite not performing any work, he receives a monthly salary and in 2021 and 2022 received a large bonus for work he did not actually perform.

According to his declaration, he is effectively a millionaire, although he has worked his entire life as a prosecutor, and his wife is a civil servant at the appellate economic court.

The prosecutor declared a salary of 1.4 million UAH for 2023. He also reported a pension of 1 million and social payments of 9,400 UAH. Interestingly, the prosecutor appealed to the court regarding pension recalculation under a scheme previously mentioned by "Ukrainska Pravda."

It is noteworthy that Ryabenko’s assets allowed him to purchase a brand new BMW x4 in 2021 for 1.76 million UAH! He keeps almost 1.5 million UAH in bank accounts. Together with his wife Ruslana (working in the court), he declared possessing cash amounting to 220,000 USD and 172,000 EUR.

Previously, Ryabenko was the military prosecutor of the Central region. He has worked in the prosecution bodies his entire life.
